Dan

Visited Manly beach, home of one of the largest marinas in the southern hemisphere. Yup, masts as far as the eye can see.

Saw a six-foot snake on our morning walk. He was dead, and showed evidence of large recent meals.

Spent the balance of the day in Brisbane walking about downtown. There is tons of construction on. Large cranes dotting the skyline. Unfortunately we were wandering between CBD and a prime backpacker zone (not that there's anything wrong with that :) It was a bit hollow.

South Bank was nice, but it's really just a mall with an artificial beach. That's unusual, to be sure, but nothing to write home about (although I guess I just did :)

Got smashed at an Irish pub. They had Kilkinney! Can't get it in the states.

A lazy day that culminated in our first trip on the motorway down to the Gold Coast. Wine tour tomorrow.
