Itinerary
I was traveling with my video camera in its underwater housing. That is, I was carrying the set around as carry-on luggage. It is an acrylic tube about 1.5 foot long, 9 inches in diameter, with large bright red aluminum caps on either end. It is framed by a multiply-handled black lattice that is weighted and allows attachment of lights.
Needless to say, it attracted lots of attention.
Every 3d person would strain their neck to stare at it in passing. Security folks were particularly interested, but none had any problem or gave me any hassle. Nor (and I find this particularly amazing), was I asked at any checkpoint to demonstrate that it works.
I was amused with the attention and all the questions from curious fellow travelers. I began referring to it as my "Death Ray". At least until Justine promised to continue on the trip without me when the inevitable official sanction came.
I behaved.
